Glebe Rangers 1-1 Larne
LARNE were held to a 1-1 draw by Glebe Rangers in the Ladbrokes.com Championship 1 at the Riada Stadium in Ballymoney on Saturday.
The Inver Reds made the trip to Ballymoney without Davy Larmour, who was ruled out with a calf injury and Jamie Marsh pulled up in the warm up with a hamstring strain.
The enforced changes didn’t prevent Larne from making an excellent start. Alan Reid put Larne in front after 100 seconds when he smashed the ball home after a goal mouth scramble.
As the half wore on, Larne found it harder and harder to retain possession as the home side began to take control. Glebe Rangers got the equaliser just before half time. A penalty was awarded against Liam Carland and Trevor Parkhill fired past Ryan Brown.
It was another poor second half showing for Larne as they continued to struggle to retain possession and put any pressure on the hosts. Indeed, Glebe Rangers, who started the day second bottom in the table, looked the more likely to score throughout the half.
Larne’s next match is against Ballinamallard United in the Ladbrokes.com Championship 1 at Inver Park on Saturday 13 March. Kick off is at 3pm.
