Larne 0-0 Ballyclare Comrades 27 Mar, 2016

LARNE and Ballyclare Comrades played out a goalless draw in the Championship 1 match at Inver Park on Saturday.

Whilst both teams had chances to score, it was a low quality match littered with errors.

Larne started well with Paul Maguire drawing a save from Paddy Flood and John Donnelly failing to capitalise when Flood got caught out at the edge of the penalty area.

However, Billy Brennan was forced into three excellent saves. The first from McClurg and then a save in each half from O'Hanlon attempts on goal.

Maguire broke clear and was one on one with Flood, but he failed to hit the target.

In the second half Maguire had another great chance when the ball bounced around the penalty area and fell to his feet, but the captain was unable to get the ball out of his feet and get a meaningful strike on goal.

Guillaume Keke, who had just returned from France the day before following a family bereavement, had an excellent opportunity to score at the death. Keke patiently waited for the ball to sit up perfectly when he met it with a fierce volley, but Paddy Flood matched it with a fine save to tip it over the bar.
