| BIOGRAPHY |
Paul Millar brings a wealth of experience as a player and a manager to Larne. Millar enjoyed a distinguished playing career serving a number of clubs during a long career, including Linfield, Glentoran and Portadown. As well as Port Vale, Hereford United and Cardiff City in the English Football League.
Millar began his managerial career at Brantwood before moving on to Newry City. Paul had been part of the coaching set up for 18 months before he was appointed as Manager in November 2005.
Paul had made a positive impression and just three months into the job was head hunted by Glentoran as Roy Coyle’s successor.
That season, Millar had managed to stabilise Glentoran, who had recorded some awful results towards the end of Roy Coyle’s tenure, and finish second in the league and qualify for the UEFA Cup. The 2006/07 season had started reasonably well for Millar. Glentoran were top of the league at Christmas and won the CIS Insurance Cup. It was Glentoran’s only cup final that season while Linfield went on to dominate the Premier Division. This was below the expectations of the Glentoran board and Millar’s contract was terminated at the end of the season.
Paul was not out of work for long though, as Bangor appointed him as Manager in May 2007. Bangor finished fourth in the First Division in 2007/08, and were promoted as part of the IFA Premiership application process. However, in May 2008, Millar resigned following an 8 match touchline ban handed out by the IFA. Paul has been out of Irish League football since then.
